Steps to make Carrot halwa:
- First of all, wash and peel all the carrots and after that grated them or you can use a chopper. I have also used a chopper as it makes it easy to do this.
- Now in a thick kadhai, add 2 tbsp ghee and grated carrots. Mix well and cover it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
- Now when the carrot becomes soft add milk and stir. Keep on full high flame so that milk will reduce fast.
- Keep stirring and don't let the edges stick.
- On the other hand, arrange all dry fruits and chopped as you like.
- Now when milk has dried add sugar and moving the spoon till dry.
- Now add left desi ghee and nuts, cardamom powder, and coconut also. Desi ghee gives good taste and smoothness to our halwa.
- 2-3 minutes stir the spoon continuously. Now it's ready to eat.
By the way, in Punjab it is called halwa as Gajrela. During the winters season, we make gajar ka halwa mostly.
